1. Who We Are
Workshop Assistant is provided by AutomechLabs, based in Greece. Our product family includes the Workshop Assistant desktop app (Windows), the ShearNesting Android app, the SheetMetalToJSON CAD plugin, and this website. For any privacy questions, contact us at [email protected].
2. Data We Collect
Contact form: name, email, phone (optional), company (optional), and your message. Free trial / software downloads: email address, the version you selected (Windows or Android), IP address, approximate geographic location (derived from IP), and browser/device information. Purchases & Licensing: when you buy a subscription, Stripe processes your payment and we receive your email, selected plan, and the license key issued — we never store card details on our own servers. Customer Portal (Members): if you create an account, we store your login credentials and your license/subscription details so you can manage them. Security verification: our download and contact forms use Cloudflare Turnstile to prevent bot abuse, which processes browser/device signals to verify you're human.
3. How We Use Your Data
We use your data to respond to inquiries, deliver downloads and license keys, process payments, verify license activations, operate the Customer Portal, prevent abuse and spam on our forms, and send product updates if you've opted in at download. We do not sell your data to third parties.
4. Third-Party Services
We use: Stripe for payment processing and subscription management; Cloudflare Turnstile for bot protection on our forms; Zoho Mail for sending emails; and a public IP-geolocation service (ip-api.com) to approximate a visitor's location from their IP address. Each service processes data under its own privacy policy.
5. Data Retention
We retain contact, download, and account data for as long as needed to serve you, manage your license, or as required by law (e.g. purchase records for accounting), and delete it on request where feasible.
6. Your Rights (GDPR)
As an EU resident, you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict processing of, port, and object to the processing of your personal data. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. To exercise these rights, contact [email protected].
7. Cookies & Local Storage
Our website does not set its own tracking cookies. Our payment provider (Stripe) and Cloudflare Turnstile may set cookies or use local storage for security and fraud/bot-prevention purposes while you use our forms and checkout.
8. Security
We take reasonable technical measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (HTTPS) and rate limiting on our forms, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
9. Children's Privacy
Workshop Assistant is a business tool and is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 16.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time as new features or services are added to our website and products. The date at the top of this page reflects the latest revision.
